Mr. Leo Page Eaglin, age 87, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012 at his residence in Opelousas.
Survivors include one son, Gregory Eaglin of Laramie, Wy; one daughter, Carol Jamison of Dallas, TX; four brothers, William Eaglin of Opelousas, Vincent Eaglin of Opelousas; Raymond Eaglin of Mississippi, and Willie Eaglin of Chicago, IL; four sisters, Mary Doby of California, Theresa White of California, Florence Carrier of Illinois, and Wilda Foreman of Opelousas; one grandson, Charles Jamison; three great grandchildren, Aaron Jamison - Johnson, Ariana Jamison - Johnson, and DaKarion Jamison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Eaglin and the former Helen Jolivette.
Mr. Eaglin retired after thirty years as a U.S. Marine Master Gunnery Sgt (E9); he was one of the very first Montford Point Marines entering into service July 10, 1942. He served his country in the Pacific during World War II, the Korean Conflict and also the Vietnam War.
