LAFAYETTE ~ Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Lafayette for Alton Joseph Siner, Jr., age 61, who passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro.
Alton Joseph Siner, Jr. was born on November 15, 1951, to his proud parents Alton Siner, Sr. and Beulah Davis Siner, both of Lafayette. As a long life resident of Lafayette, Alton attended the public schools of Lafayette and was 1969 graduate of Paul Breaux High School and later attended Grambling State University. Alton was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps for four years. He worked at Hub City Ford for six years. He then moved on to Lafayette Consolidated Government for thirty years. He worked with City League Sports officials for ten years. He worked at the Daily Advertiser for twelve years and the Advocate for three years. On October 4, 2013, the lord embraced Alton and carried him home.
Survivors include his wife of forty three years and ten months, Edella Patio Siner; his four children, Dee Dra Malbrough and her husband, Joseph Dwight, of Lafayette, MacNeary Siner and his wife, Tiffany, of Garland, TX, Mondrea Robertson and her husband, Ramon, of Katy, TX and Dereke’ Siner and his wife, Marilyn, of Lafayette; five sisters, Belinda Richard and her husband, Lloyd, of Breaux Bridge, Selina Siner, Debra Rhone and her husband, Edward, all of Lafayette, Prof. Angela Siner of Toledo, OH and Linda Faye Siner of Lafayette; one brother, Jude Siner and his wife, Mona, of Carencro; ten grandchildren, Heather Jones, Hunter Jones, Hilliaré Jones, Jayden Siner, Jaylon Siner, Mackenzie Siner, Makhia Siner, Taja Siner, Logan Robertson and Chloe Siner; one uncle, Joseph Davis of Lafayette; one aunt, Dorothy Landor; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Siner, Sr. and the former, Beulah Davis Siner; two brothers, David Siner and Paul Siner; and one nephew, Jonas Siner.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:30 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Jude Siner, Chad Polk, Gene Siner, Thaddeus Rhone, Devin Benjaman, Jerome Siner and Anthony Siner. Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Rhone, Lloyd Richard, Glen Chevalier and his posse’ boys: Emmanuel “Bay” Charles, Wilfred Jones, Carl Granger and Preston Broussard.
