Ruby Trahan

Mary “Ruby” Clause Trahan, age 79, of Alexandria, passed away peacefully March 3, 2007, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center.

Ruby was born April 27, 1927 in Carencro LA. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. Ruby’s home was filled with French and English, hospitality, good food, an abundance of laughter, and always family. Ruby appreciated gorgeous sunsets, fresh flowers, and every minute spent with family and friends.

Ruby was a native of Carencro, LA, and lived in Scott, LA, Shreveport, LA, Weisbaden, Germany, and Alexandria, LA. Ruby retired from the Social Security Administration and the Office of Hearings and Appeals.

She loved to travel. She and her husband, Buddie, enjoyed Brussels, Paris, Rome, Luxomberg, Holland, Germany, and other European countries. They traveled all over the United States, but her favorite destinations were Shreveport, LA, New Braunfels, TX, Scott, LA, and West Monroe, LA where her grandchildren were.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice Duplechain Clause, first husband, Albert Joseph Trahan, Jr., son, Albert Joseph Trahan III, and brother Charles Lee Clause.

Ruby is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Edward “Buddie” Trahan, Sr., five children, Toni Shirley (Bill) of Shreveport LA, Judy Wostal (Brian) of New Braunfels, TX, Edward Trahan, Jr. (Sharon) of Pineville, LA, Kenneth Trahan (Dawn) of West Monroe, LA, Linda Trahan, widow of Albert Joseph Trahan III of Scott, LA, Debbie Wells(Howard) of Brinnon, WA, sister, Belver Jane Laviolette (Aldon) of Breaux Bridge, brothers William Clause (Ella Mae) of Duson, and Richard Clause of Jena, 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Kramer Funeral Home in Alexandria and Monday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. March 5, 2007, at Melancon Funeral Home in Carencro. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott with Rev. Gilbert J. Dutel officiating. Internment will be held in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be her grandsons, Jamie Landry, Matthew Shirley, Joey Trahan, Andre Trahan, Aaron Trahan, and Blair Trahan.
